The Solid Silver 60s Tour has been running in the UK for the last 24 years to literally hundreds of thousands of sixties music fans.Original artists such as Gerry and The Pacemakers, The Searchers, Dave Dee Dozy Beaky Mick and Tich, Lulu, Hermans Hermits and The Troggs have delighted audiences perfoming their vast array of Hits.
The release of the Solid Silver 60s Greatest Hits means that for the very first time, you can have the tour in your living room!
60 Original hits have been compiled for the album aimed squarely at this enormous market. Classic 60s favourites such as Shout – Lulu, House of the Rising Sun – the Animals, Gerry & the Pacemakers – You’ll Never Walk Alone, The Searchers – Needles and Pins, Gene Pitney – 24 hours From Tulsa and the Walker Brothers – Make It Easy On Yourself.
Also March sees the release of a major new feature film from Richard Curtis and Working Title, entitled ‘The Boat That Rocked’ – set on a pirate radio ship in the 60s, starring Seymour Hoffman, Emma Thompson and Bill Nighy. The movie includes many of the 60s classics and will provide a strong media backdrop to the release of this album.
