The Scotsman

Once, theatre was an art-form in its own right; but now, for a growing army of promoters, it mainly exists to trade on songs, stories, titles and performers made famous in other media…

Lewisham and Catford News Shopper

A new musical inspired by one of the biggest-selling albums of the decade premiered at The Churchill last week…

Surrey Advertiser

“Come on everybody clap your hands, ooh you’re looking good…”

Yes, that was the flavour of Dreamboats and Petticoats all right. Judging by the reaction of an excited opening night audience during a nostalgia-driven production in Woking, they lapped it up…

Surrey and Epson Advertiser

Jukebox musicals are two a penny these days, an easy option for a show, which laces a slight story round a string of existing hits.

This one, inspired by what was apparently the biggest selling album of the decade after its release last year, is a pretty predictable tale of young love in Essex in the early 60s…

5*s – Croydon Advertiser

Ben Freeman plays the ego-maniac Norman with easy charm and plenty of presley-ish pelvic gyrations.

What’s On In Kent / Kent on Sunday

Dreamboats and Petticoats toe-tapping tunes and energetic ensemble gets our reporter dancing in the aisles.

Edinburgh Guide

If you like a show which has the music coming thick and fast then Dreamboats and Petticoats captures the songs of the late 50s and 60s in abundance.

Gazette, Bristol

All members of the cast deliver accomplished, vibrant performances while the sets provide an impressive backdrop.

An impressive cast delivering a string of timeless hits will ensure Dreamboats and Petticoats remains a hugely popular musical.

The Scotsman

The songs are so strong they remain imprinted in our minds just waiting for the sing-along moments that this show provides by the dozen.

The Public Review, Manchester

Freeman’s voice is phenomenal and leaves you in no doubt that he has found his niche in musical theatre.

Saw this last Friday with Des O’Conner in it and he was absolutely brilliant! As was all of the cast. Enjoyed the show overall but it was much ruder than I expected it to be!!! No swearing but quite a few mentions of things which didn’t need to be there (boys alone in their bedroom, girls at a certain age, that sort of thing……..) so be warned!!

Saw this show in Playhouse theatre, London. It was colourful and vibrant and the live music was absolutely wonderful. Every member of the cast looked as if they were enjoying every moment of this excellent performance. All of the audience were participating in the mood of the evening and as we said in the 60’s, ‘They were really swinging’. Although there were no big names, every member of the cast was a star and, if and when it comes to Edinburgh or Glasgow I will be going back to see it again.

This show rocks. The obvious talent and commitment from each and every performer is an absolute joy. The show grips the audience totally from the moment it starts to the moment it ends. The scenes/ stage arrangements and characters are exciting, and varied. Timings, quality of voices, and the music are impeccable. I had the pleasure of seeing this show at the Sunderland Empire – even before it hit the West End. The songs are straight from the early 60’s; I thought I was listening to the original artists such was the quality of this performance. Main character ‘Laura’ (played by Daisy W-D) was exceptional.
Hugely entertaining – a must see. If you’re not on your feet at the end of this show then be ashamed. Standing ovation from me.
